Drinking a lot of water during the day is your body’s best elixir for a healthy and happy life. Your body is about 70 % water, so drinking at least 8-10 glasses per day is important to keep your body working perfectly. Staying well-hydrated through out the day also keeps your skin moisturized and glow and your hair strong and fresh.
I love drinking detox waters because is the best way to get all the healthy benefits of drinking water, plus extra vitamins, antioxidants and nutritions from the fruits you mix the water with.
This week I’ve started drinking this new blueberry kiwi detox water, and I’m enjoying every sip of it! It’s super refreshing and bursts with zesty flavors, and it tastes absolutely delicious!
Making your own detox water couldn’t be easier. You only need the peel of a lemon ( make sure they’re unwaxed and organic), a sliced kiwi, 8-10 blueberries and of course water. Add all the ingredients into a water bottle, fill it up with cold water and let the ingredients infuse for at least two hours. I told you it was easy!
I usually make the mix the night before, so I have it ready to drink the morning after. I drink half a bottle of detox water first thing in the morning and by lunchtime I’ve finished it already. Make sure you don’t reuse the ingredients, but you can of course eat the fruits after.
This blueberry and kiwi detox water is an all-fruity water, so no herbs are added (unlike other detox waters). This week many of you asked me where to buy fresh herbs like mint and basil, and some of you were struggling finding them. So, I thought it was time to try something new and make an all-fruity version!
Blueberry and kiwi are also a fantastic combo of sweet & tart at the same time, and make this detox waters also packed with vitamins and antioxidants. Both these fruits contain tons of vitamin C and antioxidants.
I’ve also added the peel of an organic lemon (avoid the bitter white part), which gives a refreshing and tangy flavor to this detox water, and extra health benefits. Lemons protect you from infections, thanks to their antioxidant, disinfectant and antibiotic properties. They’re high in vitamin C and help clear out the digestive system, they also provide an inner glow to your skin.
