This mouth-watering apple pie smoothie tastes just like apple pie, but it's made with healthy ingredients that are good for you. Plus, it's naturally sweet, vegan and gluten-free!

You know the old saying, an apple a day keeps the doctor away. It's so true. And even if it wasn't, there's nothing more satisfying than biting into a delicious juicy apple.

The all-time favorite fruit surprisingly belongs to the Rose family of plants, and comes packed with essential nutrients for our body. Apples are filled with antioxidants, and contain generous amount of fiber, vitamins and minerals. Some of the best health benefits of apples include helping reduce the risk of developing cancer, diabetes, and heart disease, and lowering level of bad cholesterol. The superfruit also helps boosting brain power up and lower the chances of developing Alzheimer's.

Most of the nutrients are contained in the skin, so remember to not throw it away. Some people may not be a fan of apple skin, so smoothies are a great way to eat it without even noticing, and get all the healthy benefits.

Add in some protein-rich almond milk, dairy-free yogurt (or normal greek yogurt), and a bunch of delicious dates, to naturally sweeten your smoothie. Toss all the ingredients in a powerful blender and there you go, within seconds you'll have an indulging and super-healthy treat.

This smoothie is very full-filling, a glass of this keeps food cravings away until lunch/dinner. It's also an excellent pre/post workout energy-packed drink. More over, it tastes really like dessert, but with none of the calories, sugar and everything else you could feel guilty about. Kids love it too, even if they don't eat raw apples, they will be asking seconds of this smoothie.
