    Vitamin Packed Morning Smoothie

Start your day full of energy with this vitamin packed smoothie - Strawberries, carrots and apples all come together to wish you a very happy healthy morning!

An apple a day keeps the doctor away, and if you add fresh local carrots and strawberries it can't possibly get any better than that. This vitamin packed morning smoothie is the perfect drink to boost your energy up, plus it's naturally vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free.

All you need to make this delicious smoothie recipe is 4 healthy and simple ingredients: a tart green apple, one cup fresh strawberries, a crunchy carrot and the tangy juice of half lime.

Apples are known to be one of the healthiest fruit in the world. Refreshing, with a slightly tart flavor, this popular fruit is a good source of vitamin C and B and fiber. More over, apples contain polyphenols that influence our digestion and absorption of carbohydrates, overall improving the regulation of our blood sugar. In a nutshell, apples help us digest, feel full eating less and hydrate our body, just to name a few.

Strawberries are a packed with health benefits, not only they taste delicious, but are also a fantastic source of vitamin C and one of the highest ranked fruits containing antioxidants.
Antioxidants help combat the damaging effects of free radical activity to cellular structures and DNA.  A cup of strawberries adds to your smoothie a splash of color and a pack of healthy goodness in a natural, delicious way. Although they're widely available all-year-round these days, Spring is the best time of the year to catch juicy local strawberries, - so don't miss the opportunity.

Carrots are famous for being the best source of antioxidant nutrient beta-carotene ( it was actually named after the carrot!), as well as having an excellent amount of vitamin A.

Sweet and crunchy carrots are an amazing healthy addition to your diet list, they're notably rich in antioxidants, help support good eye health, and can protect from cancer disease.

Limes are a fantastic ingredient when cooking, and its tangy juice makes also great addition to any drink. This citrus fruit has powerful antioxidant and antibiotic effects, and one lime only provides about 30% of the recommended daily value for vitamin C. Surprisingly, one lime also provides you 22 mg of calcium, which plays a vital role in the good health of teeth and bones.

If you have other beautiful berries, mix them in! I've added a handful of fresh blueberries for extra antioxidants. Strawberries and carrots give natural sweetness to this vitamin packed morning smoothie, but if you're on the sweet-tooth side, add some agave nectar or honey - It will taste even better if possible!
